About Us

We are a group of Lewisham residents campaigning for change. We want to ensure that ‘low traffic neighbourhoods’ in our area benefit the health & well-being of the many, not the few.

We come from a range of backgrounds across the political spectrum, and we live both inside and outside of the ‘low traffic neighbourhood’.

We support the goals of the scheme – we are not “petrol heads”, and many of us do not own a car – but we demand improvements to the scheme as implemented.

Jane’s family walk, cycle, scooter, use public transport and do not own a car. Jane is concerned that the LTN will increase pollution on Lee High Road as two family members have asthma; she also worries about the impact on SEN transport as her son relies on a taxi to travel to a special school in Kent.

I have two young children who I walk to school and nursery in Blackheath every day. We have lived in Lee Green since 2017, and in Blackheath Village for a few years prior to that. I am originally from Manchester but moved to London in 2001.

I have lived in the area all my life.

Myself and my family walk, drive (electric!) and cycle around the area and beyond.

I walk my dogs in the area every day.

Lewisham resident for 50+ years, Forest Hill, Sydenham, Brockley, Crofton Park and Hither Green West. Have worked in Local Gov’t as Service Head and Programme Manager. Committed to cycling most days a week for 30+ years (for, commuting, recreation, racing, cycle courier) with a lifetime mileage of 200,000+ milles, so far. Advocate for improving the quality of life for all in Lewisham, not just the few. Want to see a broad based, Boroughwide strategy for transport that has the mandate of residents, driven by validated, robust evidence of what is needed and what it is intended to achieve. My guiding principle is that I am entitled, by the Council’s Constitution, to challenge and scrutinise decisions made by the Council on resident’s behalf. If the Council can’t or won’t explain why it proposes spending Public money on something, residents can’t and won’t mandate it.

I have lived in Hither Green for 14 years and live on one of the residential roads badly impacted by the introduction of the LTN. I have two young children who I want to see grow up in a compassionate, cohesive community.
